Baba Ganoush Recipe: A Delicious and Healthy Mediterranean Dip

Baba ganoush is a Middle Eastern dip or spread made from roasted eggplant, tahini (sesame  paste), olive oil, lemon juice, and various seasonings such as garlic and cumin. It is typically  served as a side dish or an appetizer, and is often used as a dip for pita bread or as a spread for  sandwiches. Baba ganoush is a popular dish in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.

To make baba ganoush, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 medium-large eggplant

  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  Instructionns:

  2. Cut the eggplant in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
  3. Roast the eggplant for about 40 minutes, or until the skin is blackened and the eggplant is very soft.
  4. Remove the eggplant from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Once cooled, scoop the eggplant flesh into a blender or food processor.
  6. Add the tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper to the blender or food processor.
  7. Blend or process the ingredients until smooth.

Baba ganoush is generally considered to be a healthy dish. Eggplant is low in calories and high  in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals, while tahini and olive oil are rich in healthy fats. The dip  is also generally low in sugar and cholesterol-free. However, like all dips, it's best consumed in  moderation as part of a balanced diet.
